Banshu-ori, derived from the historical Banshu region in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, boasts a rich tradition of textile craftsmanship dating back to the early 1700s. Renowned for its dyeing and weaving techniques, the fabrics in our Banshu-ori collection are dyed and woven in traditional mills, resulting in stunning, deeply colored textiles.
Situated at the confluence of three rivers, Nishiwaki City (formerly known as the Banshu region) flourished as a hub for Japan's fabric industry. The abundant water supply contributes to the exceptional softness of the cotton used in our garments.
