Green Wool Gilet
Our Olive Gilet is part of ‘The Works’, which is a modular concept of interchangeable pieces of outerwear including our Shell and Bomber that can be combined to combat seasonal changes in weather. It debuted in our first collection and is a key part of who we are as a brand. Made by our friends Mackintosh, which in our opinion is Britain’s most distinguished outerwear manufacturer, to ensure warmth on the coldest of days. It's crafted from a heavy-duty brushed wool from the English fabric mill Mallalieus, which was founded in 1863 in Yorkshire.
It has a melange of colours, with touches of purple, orange and brown, and a fuzzy and cosy handle that’s similar to fleece. This fabric keeps you incredibly warm. Functionality and adaptability are two primary factors with our olive Gilet and we’ve designed it to be reversed and zipped into our Shell jacket to create an impenetrable hybrid coat that can weather any storm. In terms of the smaller details, we’ve sourced a lovely brushed cotton twill in navy from Brisbane Moss, which is another age-old British fabric mill. We’ve used it for the bevelled patch pockets, which give it a workwear edge, and have lined the armholes and dip-back hem with it for added comfort. Finally, it has a cotton ribbed neck and reliable RiRi zips that never falter.
Providing that life-saving layer of defence that you always need in winter, our Gilet can be worn in a number of ways but we especially like it when it's layered with our denim jackets.
