Japanese Denim / 5 Years Guaranteed

The Birch Indigo Wash is 14oz indigo selvedge denim woven on narrow looms by Collect Mill, Japan. The denim jacket, refined – cut closer to the body than a traditional trucker, it holds its own over a t-shirt with clean lines and no excess. When the weather changes, the streamlined shape layers naturally under a shell without bulk. Workwear heritage, modern sensibility.

Unlike the Raw Indigo, the Indigo Wash undergoes a 45-minute rinse before it reaches you – softening the fabric and taking the edge off the indigo for a more broken-in feel from day one. It continues to fade and develop with wear, just with a head start.

Finished with a Sashiko-stitched interior pocket – itself softened beautifully through the wash process – branded brass hardware, chambray detailing at the cuffs and pocket flaps, and chain-stitched throughout.

Crafted in China – not as you'd expect.

Five years ago, our Japanese denim maker set up a small factory in China with a single ambition: to pass the Japanese way of working to a new generation of makers. Thirty workers. The same standards, the same rigour, the same obsession with craft that defines everything made in Okayama.

We chose to be part of that. Because good craft deserves to continue – wherever it takes root. Craftsmanship has no postcode.

A note on sizing. The Birch is cut to fit close to the body. We recommend sizing up for the best fit.

5-Year Guarantee

We stand behind every piece.

Our denim is guaranteed for five years against faults in materials and workmanship. If something goes wrong with the stitching, hardware, or construction – we'll repair it, replace it, or find a solution.

We offer this because we know what goes into making them. Fabric woven on narrow shuttle looms in Okayama. Construction by specialist denim makers. Details that are built to last, not just look good on day one.

Full Guarantee Terms

A bi-swing pleat across the back adds flex through the shoulder for ease of movement. A design feature borrowed from classic American leather jackets, hunting attire, and heritage workwear.

Pocket layout inspired by a 1960s Buckaroo trucker jacket in Adam's vintage archive. The reference that shaped the Birch from the beginning.

A subtle chambray lining sewn to the underside of the pocket flap and cuff binding. It reduces bulk, eliminates four layers of denim at the seam, and sits more comfortably against the skin.
