Our Guide to the Perfect Weekend in London
Some cities lend themselves to the weekend - London especially.
It rewards those who look beyond the obvious. This is a city made for walking, for pausing, for discovering the places that don’t shout for attention but quietly earn it.
In this guide, we celebrate some of our favourite places - some you may know, others you may not. And somewhere among them, we invite you to make time for a visit to The Workers Atelier, where we’ll pour the coffee, play a record, and help to make something just for you.
We’re perfection hunters by nature - always looking for honest craft, thoughtful service, and those quietly brilliant places that make a weekend feel well spent.
Where to Stay: The Milestone Hotel, Kensington

Set opposite the gates of Kensington Palace, The Milestone is everything a London stay should be - timeless, discreet, and deeply personal. Housed in a red-brick townhouse with views over Kensington Gardens, inside, the hotel unfolds like a private residence, each room and suite is individually designed, layered with character and care in a palette that leans into the comfort of heritage. There is a sense that nothing has been rushed, and nothing overlooked. Even the smallest gestures - like a handwritten note, a perfectly pressed newspaper, a late-night tea service all feel intuitive but are such a treat.
Service at The Milestone is considered and deeply personal. There is no ceremony for the sake of it - just the quiet confidence of a team who know exactly how to anticipate a need before it’s expressed. You’re looked after in a way that feels personal, not performative. That’s why we love it - and why it feels so in tune with our own values. A stay at The Milestone is a quiet reminder of the lasting impact of true hospitality. Thoughtful service, a touch of old-world charm, and the rare chance to properly switch off - it’s the kind of experience that leaves you feeling restored.
Saturday morning: A Walk Through Hyde Park Via Mayfair, Toward Marylebone

The open space, tree-lined paths and calm of the water offer a quiet reset. Whether it’s crisp and clear in winter or full of life in summer, the park always delivers something steadying.
From here, head east toward Mayfair, passing into the tucked-away charm of Shepherd Market. Just behind Piccadilly, this small pocket of old London feels almost hidden. A maze of narrow lanes, pubs, galleries and cafés, it’s compact, characterful, and refreshingly low-key.

There’s a timelessness to it, with paved alleys, old brick, painted signs - all quietly holding their own. It’s the kind of place that rewards a slow wander and feels all the more special for how easy it is to miss.
Just around the corner, the walk leads you to Mount Street Gardens - a quiet, green square tucked behind the red-brick townhouses of Mayfair. It’s one of those spaces you stumble upon rather than seek out, and that’s exactly the charm. At the centre, a tall palm tree stands slightly out of place and all the more striking for it.

Around it, wooden benches are thoughtfully spaced, inviting you to pause. We’ve always had a soft spot for a well-positioned bench - somewhere to stop, read a paper, or simply sit and take stock. It’s a brief but welcome detour. A little reminder that in a city as layered as London, stillness can be found in the most unexpected corners.
Where to re-fuel: Coffee, Done Properly

From the gardens, take a slow wander toward HR Higgins Coffee, one of our favourite stops - and until now, one of Adam’s best-kept secrets. (Sorry Adam) Tucked away on Duke Street, HR Higgins is the kind of place that welcomes you with its scent alone. The aroma hits the moment you step inside - freshly ground beans, warm air, a kind of richness that seems to settle into the walls. It reminds me of a coffee shop in Taunton from my childhood - now long gone - but still alive in memory through the scent of coffee. We love it here. It’s intimate, but you’re left to enjoy it at your own pace. No rush, no fuss - just really good coffee and seriously good pastries (trust us, they’re enormous). It’s another place that fits the rhythm of this guide: things done simply, done brilliantly, and quietly exquisite.
A Cultural Pause: Portraits, Pots & Provocation

Now fully fuelled, we recommend heading to The Wallace Collection where this quietly grand townhouse museum feels more like a private gallery. It’s one of those places we always find ourselves coming back to and it's just around the corner from our shop which is such a treat.
Currently on show is Grayson Perry: Delusions of Grandeur (running until 26 October 2025), the largest contemporary exhibition the museum has ever hosted. It brings together over 40 new works - ceramics, tapestries, collage, furniture, even AI-generated imagery - all in Perry’s unmistakable style: bold, layered, and full of character.
What we loved most is how the show plays with ideas Perry’s explored for years. The gendering of decoration, the tension between perfection and authenticity, and how taste is shaped by class and identity. Set against the ornate backdrop of the Wallace, it all feels deliberately provocative. It encourages us to question what we consider beautiful, and why.
We’ve always admired Perry’s ability to combine craft with commentary, humour with depth. This show feels like a major moment for one of the UK’s most original voices - and well worth carving out time for.
Where It All Comes Together: TWC - 58 Chiltern Street

From Manchester Square, it’s a short walk north into Marylebone - one of those rare London neighbourhoods that still feels genuinely lived in. The pace shifts again here. Chain stores give way to bookshops and butchers. Cafés spill onto pavements. There’s a calm confidence to the area that feels perfectly in step with what comes next.
Tucked just off the high street, you’ll find Chiltern Street - and The Workers Club shop. You’ll know you’ve arrived by the soft scent of sage or palo santo in the air, a friendly welcome, and the kind of space that invites you to take your time. Upstairs, you’re free to explore our Ready-To-Wear collection at your own pace.
Follow the sign downstairs to The Workers Atelier - our new space, thats quickly becoming the beating heart of TWC. We always say it’s best experienced in person. It’s where the pace shifts. There’s coffee brewing, a record spinning, and the full Made To Order collection ready to explore.
We’ll walk you through the fits, the fabrics, and the process behind our made-to-order service thats tailored, personal, and built around you. From casual unstructured tailoring to super-refined formalwear, from beautiful wool coats to exquisite knitwear crafted in Wales, formal shirts, silk accessories, and - of course - our now-infamous Made in Japan, hand-sanded and patched jeans.
No hard sell. No rush. Just craft, conversation, and a chance to create something thats totally unique, that feels just right.
Where the Day Ends - and Comfort Awaits

After a day rich in culture, independents, great coffee, green spaces - and of course, the craft and conversation at The Workers Atelier - you’ll be just about ready to head back to base. And The Milestone is calling.
Slip into the Stables Bar for a perfectly poured cocktail. It’s the kind of space that invites you to unwind properly - dimly lit, beautifully detailed, and just the right side of indulgent. With your new suit or coat from the Atelier fresh in mind, it’s the perfect place to sit back, reflect, and feel quietly pleased with how you've spent the day.
Small plates arrive. A nightcap beckons. And just like that, the weekend finds its rhythm.
Top Tip: If you’re craving something sweet (and honestly, who isn’t by this point?), do not skip the signature baked cheesecake - Mrs Tollman’s Baked Vanilla Cheesecake to be precise. It’s rich, velvety, outrageously good, and proudly served as a house classic at The Milestone. And yes, you can have it delivered to your room. In bed. In a robe.
Come on - that has to be the perfect end to the most perfect day.
Enjoy,
Charlotte x
